Christopher B. Rowley
born Lynn, Massachusetts: 1948
Christopher Rowley is an American author of science fiction (primarily military SF) and fantasy, TV screenwriter and former journalist.
His first published works, and best-known works, were in his War for Eternity/Fenrille series, beginning with The War for Eternity (1983), The Black Ship (1985), The Founder (1989) and To a Highland Nation (1993), concerning a war that takes place mostly within Earth’s solar system.
The Vang series continues this war into interstellar space against a deadly alien threat, with Starhammer (1986), The Vang: The Military Form (1988) and The Vang: The Battlemaster (1990).
He wrote the non-fiction book, Star Wars, Return of the Jedi: Heroes, Villains, Creatures & Droids (1983) (co-authored with George Snow).
He then wrote fantasy with his Bazil Broketail/Battle Dragons series, beginning with Bazil Broketail (1992) and including Dragon Ultimate (1999); and his Arna series, beginning with The Ancient Enemy: The First Book of Arna (2000) and ending with Doom's Break: The Third Book of Arna (2002).
He has also written graphic novels, within the H.P. Lovecraft mythos with Arkham Woods (2009); Heavy Metal pulp noir thrillers with the Netherworld series, Pleasure Model (2020), Bloodstained Man (2010) and Money Shot (2010).
The standalone, Golden Sunlands (1987), concerns a human colony planet who are kidnapped and trained for war in a Dyson sphere but who discover another species already there.
He was also co-screenwriter on two TV animated series in the 1980’s and’90’s, The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers and Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders.
