I've been watching Dark Matter on Apple TV+, (not to be confused with the 2010 TV series, or the Peter Straub novel.) This is created by Blake Crouch, based on his 2016 novel of the same name.

It's a techno-thriller where a physics teacher, Jason Dessen, in Chicago is kidnapped into an alternate version of his life, leaving him to fight to return to his life to prevent the alternate version of himself Jason#02 from taking over his family.

I'm liking this. It starts very dark and fast paced, (the first two episodes were made, and then the other seven later) but it does tend to lull in the middle when it becomes a little bit like the TV series Sliders with infinite worlds to visit to find the correct needle in a haystack. There are some good original ideas though, his twin sons, Charlie and Max, and a nice homage to It's a Wonderful Life in episode 6, when he hugs the barman for remembering him, and then runs down the street checking all the right businesses are still there. (It's a Wonderful Life is even being shown at the cinema too.) There is the fact that he knows different people in very different ways, or that they don't know him at all. Much more thought has been put into these multiple lives lived in different ways than was ever put into Sliders.

Then it turns very dark again, and complicated, towards the end. Jason#02 murders his chemist friend, Ryan, to protect his identity from his wife, but when the police come knocking, he must kidnap another version of Ryan to replace him. To do this he must reopen the door that was blocked up. It then turns into The Man Who Folded Himself and many different alternate versions of the kidnapped version Jason#01 vie with each other to be the one to murder the kidnapper Jason#02.
