Dennis Feltham Jones

died Cornwall, England: 1 April 1981

D F Jones was a British science fiction author who was a Royal Navy commander during World War II. He is best known for his debut novel, Colossus (1966), which explores the story of a defence supercomputer that gains control over nuclear weapons to dominate humanity, along with a comparable machine constructed by the Soviets, named Guardian. There were further novels in a series, and it was made into the film Colossus: The Forbin Project (1970). These books have been the subject of several queries in our SFF Chronicles Book Search forum.

He had eight books, and three short stories published. His work has the themes of artificial intelligence, dystopia, alien invasion and geological devastation.

I've read Colossus, excellent book and cautionary tale about A L technology. loved The Forbin Project film adaption with Eric Braeden

Also by him I've read The Earth Has Been Found . A very underrated Alien . The invaders are intelligent insect like parasites use human beings as host for they young.
