While I find the link of interest, I fear any comments might easily slip into political discussion. In posting this I'm not intending to express a personal political view.

I've read the article, and agree with the OP's concern that it may lead to political discussion. As, however, it may be of interest to Tolkien readers, I'm leaving it available for the moment, but, as Hugh suggests, closing it to comments.
