AppleTV is currently my top science fiction series source.
In addition to this new show (which holds promise) Apple offerings include For All Mankind, Silo, Invasion, Foundation, See and Severance. Yes, even Invasion became worthwhile watching in season 2.
I've begun dumping disappointing services, like HBO's Max and Disney+. Netflix will probably be the next to go, as my streaming streamlining continuues.

The trick will be if that sustain this series over multiple seasons.
 
As far as the giant monsters destroying cities genre goes, this series is surprisingly good. The CGI has been excellent.

Nowadays , they can do great movie quality effects with television budget.
