I've been trying to remember a book for the longest time. The book is one I read when I was younger, ~2004/2005.
I can remember that the dead/dying inventor of a future internet analogous technology was resurrected/cloned to a younger age similar to his son. I believe the rough plot was that he was "resurrected" to help fix his invention. I can remember that his son became jealous of him, and also that his son's girlfriend became infatuated with him.
It was in English, and I think it was set in England (I could be massively wrong with the setting). I remember that genetically modified plants had run rampant.
It was in my school library and was paperback.
