Apple phones apparently taking IR photos of you every 5 seconds

Can someone with one of these new i phones grab a camera and try to verify this?
(I'm guessing that the camera on another phone will also see the IR flashes. )

Well, my iPhone can try all it likes, but I doubt that it'll get through the case...

I don't live with my face in my telephone and i don't have facial recognition enabled. I have no secrets, I don't even need a password to access my phone.
