This film must have been released during the Covid-19 lockdowns. If it had been any good they would have held back the release. The user reviews are all bad on IMDb. I just saw it on TV. It's another film that I saw so that you don't have to!

Imagine Highlander, but without any of the humour, and with reincarnation rather than immortals. Then add lots of car chases, shoot outs, jumping out of aeroplanes and other spectacular but pointless things.

It is the old story of an eternal battle of champions, except that it has a serious plot flaw. The arch-villain, bad guy Bathurst, (Chiwetel Ejiofor) wants to destroy all of the mankind and all the living things on Earth. His reasoning is that he has become bored of endless reincarnations. He has created a special bullet that captures the souls of those who are shot in a microchip, preventing the soul from being reborn and reincarnating again. So, why doesn't he commit suicide by using this bullet on himself. Far easier that ending the whole world one would think.

Anyway, Treadway (Mark Wahlberg) has to defeat Bathurst, but he has forgotten who he was due to an accident that put a metal plate in his head. At least the plate prevents him being shot by the special bullet. After a long preamble, his team manage to have him remember and then stuff really gets blown up.

That's it really. Based on a whole series of books apparently. If so, then they cut out all of the best parts. Or else, these are serious boring books.

Have not seen it but , It does sound interesting. :)
