I've recently finished a reread of the three (so far) books in this series. Rook, Stiletto and Blitz.
I've noticed he keeps casually dropping cultural references into his stories.
A supernatural manifestation happens in Walmington-on-sea (Dad's army)
Another one, that the WW2 version of the Chequay decide not to investigate, involves a German submarine landing at Pepperinge Eye (Bedknobs and Broomsticks) that was apparently driven off by some animated military uniforms.
Anybody else read the books?
