I have one story about bar plaques. I had a fairly strict Christian upbringing. During college, I worked at a restaurant that did a very prosperous business at the bar. Their big gimmick was the around the world club. If you drank a beer from 24 different countries (not in one sitting), then you got a plaque on the bar with your name on it. Anyway, my parents had some old proper friends coming to town and they went to the restaurant. The proper lady asked my mother about the 10,000 plaques. My mother explained, pointed to random plaque, and read out loud, “Bring me another one a ASAFP! Boaz 6-17-1986”
