Favorite Science Fiction Series

I loved Cowboy Bebop (live-action)-series while it lasted, only 1 season. Sigh.
Haven't seen the anime version. Yet.
The anime is better, but don't be surprised to find some scenes that the live-action version used. That being said, the actors of the live-action version are fantastic matches.

Oh, Farscape. How could I forget? Thank you @Rodders for the reminder. Such a unique scifi experience and definitely one I've rewatched many times.

I always really enjoyed Doll House. It isn't science fiction in the sense of flying around in space, but it is a fantastic future tech experience. Plus, it is pretty creepy when you get into the deeper details.

Quatermass and the Pit 6 part 1958 series.
Torchwood

I liked the first season of V. And I am still searching for a way to look at the complete Space Battleship Yamato series.

Just when V was getting interesting towards the end , they canceled it. :(

Space Battleship , Yes, excellent series .

Halt and Catch Fire

For spaceships and stuff:
The Expanse

Anime:
Some of the Macross
Some of the Gundum
Bebop
Eden of the East
Ergo Proxy
Ghost in the Shell: Arise
Knights of Sidonia
Yukikaze

The connection all of these share is that they were all written as limited series, not open ended. So they have overall story arcs and meaningful endings. And that means the writing and production quality are higher than normal for TV.
