3 January is Tolkien's birthday (1892). I dropped out of the Tolkien Society a few years ago, but their custom was to toast Tolkien at 9:00 pm local time.

We owe Tolkien so much!

This year once again I expect to raise a glass of Dragon's Milk stout. The stuff is tasty and the label seems suitable.
