New Year, New Quarter, and New 300 Worder!

We have the Inspiration Image all ready, courtesy of our very own @HareBrain (who is expected to bestir himself this quarter and enter the Challenge as it's his photo...) but we're currently awaiting someone with more techno-knowhow than a tortoise to come along and deal with it as that kind of thing is beyond a Judge's remit. (And it keeps telling me the image is too large, which I put down to the Rabbit's rabbiting.)

Meanwhile, think Laundry Ghats...

EDIT: for those confused, since the Challenge is now up with the image in situ, Ursa came along within 30 mins of this post and worked his usual magic, then transferred the thread over from behind the veil where I'd hidden it!

Looks like it’s time to air out some laundry . . .

Ooof. Forgot about this. Just finished another novel, and completed a short story for the winner of a competition I ran.

Oh, alright then... It's not like I can stop the storymaking engine in my head, anyway. :D

Nice, and so it is written.

Now, we play the game of wait and be cantankerous about it

Hm, my first thought was that this is a picture of somewhere the Mandalorian would visit. In other words seriously low tech in a world where higher tech is available.

Looks like the kind of place Indiana Jones might appear; definitely more fantasy than sci-fi for me.

@JS Wiig .... Of Seamstresses and Streams .... JS creates a fantasy world and a princess that should be an inspiration.

@THX1138 .... Data Wash .... THX helps us alight in a world where the worst of analog meets the best of digital espionage and the result quite beyond expectation.

@Rafellin .... Hasty .... Raf delves into a mystery in a biological wonderland.

JS Wiig: A thoughtful account of social class and the value of seemingly ordinary skills.

THX1138: A realistic prediction of the near future of information technology, its use, and its abuse.

Rafellin: A vivid portrait of a world where the border between technology and magic is blurred.

@Victoria Silverwolf .... The Hunt .... V.S. writes a clever Speculative Fiction story that makes me want to read more and wondering if it goes to Fantasy of Science Fiction.

*** Warning, Everyone had better be on their guard in this round. Victoria has just set the bar very high indeed. ***

Oy, never do your final edit in the posting window. Hope I didn't screw anything up.

Good stories so far, best of luck to those still writing. Happy that there'll be many interesting stories to read, for voting, CC
