I always enjoyed watching him play. I even did one of his infamous "Bicycle Kicks" in junior high to successfully block a goal! Just wish it was turf and not a gravel field I can down on...A special prayer for Pele tonight.

His death actually caught everyone by surprise in Brazil, and that's a shame; he was mostly abandoned and forgotten. It seems that he was more famous overseas than here.

He was beautiful to watch. There is a Pele documentary in Amazon or Netflix which is well worth a view.
Very few people have single- handedly redefined a sport in the same way as Pele did with football. Ali with boxing, arguably Jonah Lomu with Rugby League. Cannot really think of any others.
