What does a failed Mega-City One Judge do?

Galen DeMarco was a sector chief who had feelings for Dredd and kissed him, unsually for Dredd he didnt get her fired but gave her a second chance she diidnt resolve the feelings and left the force and became a PI, she still pops up from time to time.

Dredd being who he is, can't have any kind of relationship with a woman, even if the rules allowed it. He can't let anyone else into his life , he simply doesn't know how to do so. What makes him a great lawman in Megacity One also make him a very tragic figure in what he's had sacrifice in the process. He walks alone and will do so right to the end.

To be fair the Dredd that is there now is not the one that was there before he has mellowed, the Pit storyline with DeMarco was a post AMERICA and Dead Man Dredd he has mellowed a little and has realised that there is slighlty more than just the letter of the law, he tries to maintain a relationship with Dolman and Vienna and felt enough compassion to take McGruder out of her hospital on a fake Cursed earth mission so that she would die a Judges Death and not in her sickbed.

He is ever so slowly changing I am not sure if this is something they are doing to prepare us for whatever they are going to do to keep Dredd moving forward or not but there is a little more humanity to him now.
