Tornado: Good grief!

Watching the early shots full screen it is horrifying the ease with which it rips the roofs off houses.
It must have been absolutely terrifying in thos homes. I can't imagine there were no fatalities.

Looks like about category 2 or 3 Tornado

One of the Most destructive single tornados occurred in 1925. The Tristate Twister . It ripped thought three states Missouri , Indian and Illinois , caused destroyed several towns a number farms. Its estimated that it was top of the line monster category 5 . A Tornado on average lasts only a few minuted before it dissipates . The Tristate Twister lasted over 3 hours.

Unexpected side-effect of the tornado that took one of my trees last summer: I recently replaced it, but am now obligated to water the replacements (I decided to replace the tall tamarack with two small spruces...) frequently...

Tornadoes seem to be appearing more frequent now-a-days. A small one ripped through a town next mine weeks ago. It ripped up trees and downed power lines. Years ago a small tornado blew through the streets of New York. Canada is beginning to have tornadoes too.
