DISCUSSION THREAD -- April 2022 -- 300 Word Writing Challenge #45

Pretty hard to come up with three from my utter faves* — but those three, in posting order, are:

Swank (puts me in the mind of Michael Crichton; somewhat cinematic, too)
World of Mutes (Kafkaesque, existential madness that’s right up my street)
Perpetual Man (prose that’s just beautifully dark)

Cats cradle *
Swank*
Jo
Guttersnipe
Peter v
Dan Jones *
Days man *
Magpie asylum
Perp *
World of mutes *
Mosaix
Therapist *
Teresa *
TJ *
Ursa

Thank you for the mentions, and les votes from Teresa, Swank and Jo.

A lengthier shortlist than usual:

Bren G -- Retribution
BT Jones -- Children of a Foreign Sea
chrispenycate -- In Crustation
Le Panda du Mal -- Tom Crabbielocks
Jo Zebedee -- Market Day
magpie Asylum -- TOO DEEP
Mon0Zer0 -- The Madness of Shoals
Phyrebrat -- The Catch
Peter V -- Fish Food
Swank -- The School
Teresa Edgerton -- Metamorphosis
After a good deal of cogitation, my votes went to Bren G, BT Jones and Le Panda.

Special mentions also to Quokka and M. Robert Gibson for making me laugh!

Tide-filled thanks for the lovely mentions/shortlistings Christine, johnnyjet, CC, Jo, Starbeast, Phyrebrat and Elckerlyc. And magical seacave thanks for the fabulous votes, Quokka, Parson and Chris P, and for the stealth votes Peter and BTJ!

Congratulations, Victoria! Wonderful story.
Also congrats to Christine and Jo and Teresa, and... well everyone. There were so many great takes on the picture.

Huge thanks to everyone who listed and voted for my story. Looking forward to the next 300 worder in July, CC

Congratulations Victoria!

Apologies for not doing a proper round up of stories this month - the time got away from me - but I did vote, I promise.

Thanks to the small, hardy few who mentioned my strange piece and prevented me from getting the dreaded 0-0!
You can have half of mine as payment for Sir Reggie's guest appearance :)

Congrats to @Victoria Silverwolf :)

Thanks for the votes @Ursa major @M. Robert Gibson @Daysman @Wayne Mack @Mon0Zer0 plus the mentions folks.

The image reminded me of the old AD&D Players Handbook of the statue being robbed of its ruby eye. The figures on the cover were meant to be all together but I always believed them to be separate.

Add in the Dark Lord with, for me the icing on the cake, a Sir Reggie guest appearance. I had fun writing the tale. Thanks again to @Dan Jones for letting me loose with his creation.
