Season finale. Runtime 46 minutes. IMDb score 8.1

It seems as if the big reveal for the season is that the objective of "the entity" (AKA Sol) is to devolve the new human immigrants into the happy-go-lucky skitters their ancestors have apparently become in order to simplify their minds and bring them bliss. Maybe that's the only way to solve the age-old conflict between science and faith. It's certainly a better route than war and planetary destruction.
I don't understand where the significance of the crucifixion of Marcus. Those crucified upside-down will be resurrected upside-down?

Campion said in the last episode, "Androids are not liars, humans are," in the defence of the little android girl. It's just android lie differently. They omit information or doesn't exactly tell you what you'll need to know. And in the subject of Mother and Father, they both have lied to each other, so it's not unheard of, and Grandmother is probably the same.

Then we have Sol, the Alien Entity, who definitely have lied and manipulated things from the beginning. There's no question about that, but then there are the miracles, with Sue turning to the Tree of Knowledge, Mother birth Seven and all the other stuff. And because they're unexplainable, it's kind of odd question about what is really going on or is it when you apply the omnipotent word to Sol.

Thing with the omnipotent entities is that they are close to a god without being one and godly scale these super powerful aliens appears as one without really holding the real power. Maybe humans are easier to manipulate than droids and Ai's and yet, they are all so clueless when it comes to the unknown.

You clearly see that in the number Seven going through evolutionary cycle in the uberwyrm life as first it was just piece of very sophisticated code that caused Mother to sprout an impossible being on our eyes. It gaining the power to unleash after it ate the tree could be explained in software terms by an upgrade package. Seven only had to eat it.

The other mother and the new child. In theory, Kebler 22b's subject turned and the baby is another step in the long process that is trying to make them better, to heal them from whatever they subjected themselves to. So it was wrong to kill her, when Tempest had already passed the task of caring of the baby to the Other Mother.

Grandmother said the similar things. That the humans were fragile beings and they needed proper caring that Mother couldn't do, because of her emotions. So if they are going to solve the problem, they'll need to solve the problem of Sol, the Alien Entity.

The last data package. I can most definitely claim that it's English from the structure, but we don't know the alphabet. Campion were wise for copying them on a piece of garment with the use of berries. The question how is, was it Sol's download or Vrii's message?

Father was right by questioning Mother's motives on taking Grandmother's veil. The whole thing stinks to high heaven. Thing is, Sol has tried its best to make its will happening and it's kind of funny how they are all thinking in similar lines, that the current form of uberwyrm's evolution, but they can't because they'd fully understand what they are facing. Still in Father's shoes I would have thought had before removing the Veil of Filtered Emotions.

Putting on the Mother made her more machine like, and yet, even with it in she sounded like Mother with feelings. Strangely it seemed to work as Mother lured the beast to low planetary orbit instead of unleashing in anger, when Seven was chasing Campion. The was how she disabled the worm also looked as if she hacked into the thing and disabled its bio programming.

The strangest thing that Mother asked from Campion was, "Why would you love a machine?"

The boy couldn't answer. Instead he walked away, broken. When she returned back to the Tarantula and Father asked, "Are you now ready to remove it?"

Mother answered, "No. It's better to wait until things are calmer. I have quantified the problem, and the emotional impact I'm likely to suffer, could cause a great interruption to our family and the collective."

It's almost as if she has turned to a b*tch and because of it, Father needs to that hideout to cope the ordeal. He most definitely doesn't have an easy life, living in between Grandmother and Mother. I also loved that he didn't want Grandmother to take Mother's place at home like a good husband, but Mother was having none of it.

We men can't do nothing when a woman puts their foot down. It either do it, or do it and cry while doing it anyway.

Interesting thing is that without the emotions Lamia became more observant, colder and forceful as she was telling the truth to Marcus after the Punisher helmet was stolen. She understood the connections and it made her more protective.

I like her without the veil even if she's suffering from "the programming related anxiety." And she's a beauty. It was also strange that she saw the humans from much older perspective as if the collective were really her flock and she their Shephard. And like a real Grannie she took the control of the family as if was slightly removed from them instead of being just another android.

She even snatched Sol's next viral bomb and told, "It's dangerous," like a real thing at Seven's death party and instead of arguing with Father, she gave a lesson. She said, "I'm unsure how you both managed to tend to the children for all this time without the sensory filter. The worry and the fear I feel for them is overwhelming..."

It is a detached perspective, where as Father is closely tied to the main family. Father called it rightly as an affliction and Grannie corrected him by saying, "There are some pleasant aspects," for being head of the family. She even understood that giving the children back their games was going to be a good thing as through it, they would keep their minds occupied and learning.

In the story terms her role is very well crafter and she compliments the union better than Mother's presence.

Marcus, the saint, or a messiah. Throughout the series he most certain has gone through the martyr role, for many times being close to death and every single time, getting back and doing it again.

Funny thing is that Lucius snatched him, nailed him to a tree as if he was destined to hell, and then proceed to tell him that he'd heard voices. Telling him to do the crucifixion and do the punishment while wearing a relic piece from Sol's old religion. It is as if the history is repeating itself and Sol is making sure that they are going down the chosen road instead the humans putting up a fight.

Seeing Marcus floating upside down at the end made me think that Sol's possessed Marcus' body and thus became an antichrist or the devil.

I felt sorry for the little guy when he was so brutally slain by his own mom.
Despite Number Seven's fearsome appearance, he was really just a youngster trying to find his place in the world. I think Mother decided to keep Grandma's veil because she fears the psychological impact she will face over murdering her child when the veil is removed.

I felt sorry that he was left hungry and he had to go and chomp a giant bush to satisfy his needs. Mother really didn't do him any favours and at the end she tried to get rid of him. I wonder what Grandmother would have done with him?

Sorry, but I'm lost again. Half-way through the season I thought it all made sense, now it's gone all fantasy again.

Just one of many things that I can't explain.

Father and Grandmother talking, and Father casually reveals that they knew about the creatures all being "devolved" humans all along but didn't wish to frighten the children. If it was so obvious all along, why didn't we know it?
I hope it'll get explore in the next season.
I've watched too many US Science Fiction TV shows that were suddenly cancelled without reason or notice to never have such high hopes, just in case they are dashed again. I'd rather it all made sense now without waiting.

I didn't even really notice it, because we kind of already knew it. The whole planet is a devolved place because of the Entity. It was the curse that it caused through worshipping and then applying the poison through the tree. Grandmother had supervised and corrected them before, whenever that was, but yeah you're right, the problem with these series is that it does not do exposition, it assumes that the viewer gets it through the visual narrative.

Westworld has mostly the same problem. It assumes that the watcher is intelligent and doesn't get lost in the narrative. Yet, this series takes it to another level, where everything is a little bit alien and somewhat connected to Prometheus and thus to the Alien and to the BladeRunner world. In a way this series, like the WestWorld are hard to watch, because of the show and don't tell rule played all over the place.

There are no fillers. But it is not a bad SF series. Actually, in my honest opinion, if you allow yourself to be taken to a ride, it's a wild one. Is that a bad thing?
