TV Guide Ranks Cartoons/Animated Shows (2013)

What I was going to say was that I don't understand why it has such a dismissive and limited title/concept. It should simply be "Best Animated Shows of All-Time" or something. But, more importantly, any list that doesn't rank Looney Tunes #1 immediately loses all credibility with me and any list that has Futurama, King of the Hill, and Pinky and the Brain in "the other 50" does the same. And how is the Flintstones #2 and The Jetsons in "The Other 50"? My top 10 might be something like

Looney Tunes

and, in alphabetical order (though, admittedly, some of these aren't great):
Fat Albert
Futurama
The Jetsons
King of the Hill
The Pink Panther
Pinky and the Brain
Rocky & Bullwinkle
Tom and Jerry
Woody Woodpecker

with dishonorable mentions :) to

Beavis and Butt-Head
Ren & Stimpy
South Park

as being a little... different.

But that's just from their list. Where's Mr. Magoo? Not tops, but maybe in the top-50. And Hong Kong Phooey, voiced by the inimitable Scatman Crothers, should be on there.

So what do you think of the article, who are your favorites and, either way, who's missing? Or even what digressions does it occur to you to post? :)

I guess it depends on how old you are and where you're from, too. I used to love Looney Toons as a kid (I was obsessed with Daffy Duck) but I think it's a bit poo now.

Are we allowed to put in animated stuff as well as cartoons? Because I'd put the Thunderbirds pretty high up.

My number one would be TMNT. I've loved it since the first time I saw it in the 80s and it has such a huge fan base over multiple generations that it's not really comparable to anything else, imo. There's been comics, cartoons, films, live action, music tours, toys. It's head and shoulders above everything.

I'd put Teen Titans on my list (not Teen Titans Go). The Animals of Farthing Wood. Rick and Morty if we're allowed adult cartoons. The Moomins. Postman Pat. Trap Door. X-Men.

Looney Tunes,
Tom and Jerry,
Pink Panther.
Wacky Races,
Stop that Pigeon ( anything with Dastardly and Muttley)
The Flintsones.
The Clangers.
Danger Mouse.
Foghorn Leghorn ( although I think maybe Looney Tunes)
Arabian Nights ( used to be on Banana Splits)

Can't believe I forgot Popeye, I'll swap the Clangers.
