Help! 1980's SF short story search!

I'm looking for an SF short story from the 1980's; plotline involves a group of young aliens going through a rite of adulthood that involves hunting down a human and bringing back its skin. At one point they either imitate or use a captured human woman to call for help to draw in their human quarry, and there's a cut scene with the humans deciding whether or not the call is real. At the end, the young aliens are successful but the "skin" they bring back is a suit with a bunch of tubes and whatnot dangling from it that they are swinging like a flag. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Yes it does and it's older than the 80s. Robert Sheckley popped into my mind....
