Field to woodland in 60 years - a 60 year long experiment on natural regeneration

They started something similar at Slindon Woods near me, about 15(?) years ago. A previously arable field was fenced off from deer (which are very abundant round here) and left to regenerate naturally. It's already a thicket about 10 feet tall. I've forgotten which were the dominant species, though.
