I read a book many years ago and it’s not Lucifer’s Hammer or Shiva Descending. This is what I remember:
1. Lake Michigan tilted and flooded Chicago.
2. Astronauts had to land and came down in Disneyworld - this is "mentioned" in Shiva Descending, but doesn't happen.
3. After the disaster, train travel was a big mode of transportation.
4. The capitol was being re-built and the protagonists were taking a train there for the dedication.
