but could easily have gone for @paranoid marvin ,@nixie ,@Parson, @pyan, or @Hugh

My own story came out of my desire to show the lasting human values that can get corrupted by letting the gleam of a glamorous life apart from family get in the way of the things that are truly important. --- I believe that the story is based in a real event. I heard it told about a Brazilian mother and her daughter which tried to make a go of it in Rio, lost her way, but her mother made heroic attempts to contact her and take her home where she would be safe. It worked there too I'm happy to report. (book by Max Lucado, I don't remember which one.)
