Never appreciated for what they are, brown dwarfs are often compared to what they are not. Indeed, they’re stuck in a celestial no man’s land, classified neither as stars nor gas giant planets.

It'll be interesting to see if the scientists can come up with a simplified model of when to expect winds whirling round the globe and when to expect roiling storms ejecting into space - and how they transition from one to the other as the star changes.

I believe Brown Dwarfs are potential stars which failed to ignite because their mass is slightly below 'star quality'?
