Too slow. Battlestar Galactica is a story with a very long payoff. One film a year would either be too slow to interest viewers or they'd have to move so fast and end up losing the entire point of the story.

Galactica was pulling in decent rating numbers , The problem with the 1978 series is it was too expensive for its time. One million per episode. If they stuck with a television format , one thing they might have considered was doing several Tele movies per year for a few years and then ending the series with miniseries. One possibility they come too Earth of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century to close things out. Images an epic space war, the Galactica the Earth and maybe even have Draconain Empire step in on the side of the Earth vs the Cylon Empire
