Loooong shot... back when I was a wee lass, I'd kife totally inappropriate reading material from my dad. Thats where I found Robert Mccammon Wolf's Hour.
I'd DEARLY love to find this book.. it's driving me NUTS. It was a pulp paperback, reddish cover I think. The basic plot was a male lead on a desert type planet, that was paved. There were tanks, big rigs, a cyborg woman that if you put the moves on her, demanded sex and a fuzzy alien mechanic. They were going somewhere to fight something I think?
Kind of a 70's John Ringo.

Was it a comedy, or at least tongue in cheek? I've seen a slightly cartoony cover to an old SF magazine that could have depicted this. I wonder if someone had reused the cover art.

It was a book, probably 350 400 pages. I * think* the antagonists were stripping the planet of gas for the tanks and big rigs... maybe? The cyborg female was trying to talk the protanganist out of going wherever to do the thing.. and he shut her up with sex.. because of course that's how that works. Sigh.. this book might not be even as good as my 11 y/o self remembers.. but it's like an earworm dang it.
