Science fiction triggers 'poorer reading', study finds

I have and will continue to argue that reading anything makes you a better reader than reading nothing at all.

But I understand that reading grammatically poorly written and edited material will probably lead to you copying those problems. But I'm assuming that nobody is claiming that science fiction is, in general, functionally written worse than Romance, Spy or general fiction. Are they?
