Magazines that publish fantasy?

There is our own @Glitch's Kraxon Magazine, for a start. He publishes excellent fantasy stories (well, I would say that, wouldn't I?). Other than that, there's Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Strange Horizons, Cossmass and a whole host of magazines online. Personally, I think Kraxon is the best. Not sucking up. Not sucking up at all...

Writer's Digest puts out a Writer's Market every year. Also, there's a website called Ralan.com that has a lot listings

There's Grimdark magazine from Australia. If you're writing darker fantasy, you could try there.

Magazines that publish fantasy:

Beneath Ceaseless Skies - all content is fantasy
Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction - about half of it
Lightspeed - half fantasy (clearly labelled in contents)
Asimov's Science Fiction - about a third of it is fantasy
Cosmic Roots & Eldritch Shores - at least half
Deep Magic - all fantasy
Diabolical Plots - fantasy
DreamForge Anvil - fantasy
Fantasy - fantasy, funnily enough
Deep Magic - fantasy
Mysterion - some fantasy, not sure how much though
Nightmare - more horror/weird
Strange Horizons - heavy on fantasy; mostly liberal/minority/LGBTQ+
Tor.com - about half fantasy

You can find most of these online, with a google search.

Wow, I've been rejected by every single one of those. With the exception of Tor.com 'cause they're not open to direct short fiction submissions.
Just a note: Deep Magic is no more. But you can still read what they've published of course.

I'd add The Common Tongue Magazine. One of the only magazines that is all Dark Fantasy. I work there  .

No, it's still going. Tangent were sent the summer 2021 issue for review this month...
Yeah, but a while ago they announced they would be closing. I think they still have a lot of stories in stock though. Or maybe they changed their minds.

Ever considered that your skills may lie elsewhere? ;)

(just joking)
I used to think that all the time! Actually, it was that very thought that brought me to SFF Chronicles in the first place. But I am much more confident today!
