@ Nixie, what did you think of 'Queen of Storms' - I liked it, but it seemed short. Agree with your assessment of King of Ashes - not ground breaking, so of the usual tropes - but entertaining without asking too much of the reader. Hoping the third isn't too far away.
 
I liked Queen of Storms, like you found it a little short. Really looking forward to the next book.
I do see similarities to his other works, he really does like his assassins and thieves. Hats off to him for given women more prominent roles in this series.
 
Yes! I really enjoyed his Mistress of the Empire collaboration with Janny Wurts, and Miranda later in the Riftwar saga.
 
Now I always found Miranda annoying.
Mara of the Acoma was brilliant, I think a lot of that was due to Janny Wurts.

Names are escaping me for the moment but the female lead in this series seems more real than Miranda ever did.
 
Hava? Definitely more rounded out as a character.
At least Feist hasn't gotten as repetitive as Edding's did.
 
Not familiar with that Title, not sure I've read anything by Sanderson.
Will have to look it up :)
