I was just going to post this. A terrible loss to us. His designs featured in a lot of Sci-Fi movies of the 70’s and 80’s.

RIP Syd. You will be greatly missed.

I know there a number very large and obvious differences between Tron and Matrix. But Both the worlds of Tron and Matrix were set inside of computer generated virtual realities. Im thinking that concept wise Tron could have been influence fo the Matrix ?


One note , In the Dr Who serial The Deadly Assassin , which came out a few years before Tron and decades before the 1999 Matrix , there is repository of Knowledge on Gallifrey called The Matrix . It comprised pf of the bioand life-force and memories and experiences deceased Timelords In the series ,The Doctor and his opponent entered and died battle the Matri The particular Matrix had virtual reality capability.
