This is a collection of stories by Ted Chiang,an author who is new to me. He is very well known and liked, but has never written a book length story.
Some stories are short and two are long. All of the stories pose interesting thoughts that are expressed in a clear way.
I do like his writing and most of the stories and will read more of his books.
Ted Chiang is a great story teller. Each time I picked up this book,I knew I was in for a treat.
There is no theme to the stories, they are all individually different and most entertaining.
My only criticism, purely personal, is that his story about the lifecycle of software objects went on too long. It is a fascinating concept, raising many issues I had never contemplated before, but the technical details bogged me down sometimes.
Overall I recommend this book, for someone like me,who is between epics.

Thanks for that, biodroid. I shall look into getting more of Ted Chiang's books after the holidays.
