The Roci crew prepares for an incoming disaster on Ilus. Ashford and Drummer close in on an enemy within the Belt. Bobbie takes on a dangerous job.

Holy macaroni! So the Great Machine has fusion reactors under the surface and Miller can somehow turn off Fusion at orbit. But Miller again caused a disaster by turning off something in New Terra space. We don't know how far that field extends, but we can safely assume that it will some way off the Moon belt.

There is no other exoplanet that has similar patterns on their Moons. Why that didn't flag the people that there might be something wrong with the system is weird. Beltalowda only thought about home and the profit they can get from easily gathered lithium.

Maybe all of this means that in the future the writing and Science Fiction disappears from people minds. They forget the examples artists can conjure from their minds. The thought process and all the work that goes into making something readable, maybe even making it a master piece. But I'm certain that there are other masterpieces which has worked with the fusion dampening field before.

Think about for a second doing that same thing to a star. Maybe even using it on a red dwarf and then mining it for all the valuable resources a star holds in it. It would be amazing, but also terrifying, because humanity can only dream about achieving technology like that. Mastering it would move us immediately to level we have seen in the Star Wars, meaning a civilisation capable of controlling an energy output of a star or many of them.

Using it on 1300 and 1 systems would make humanity masters of the galaxy. But the thing is, we don't know if the Creators connected the Ring system to some other galaxy. We don't even know if all the systems are in Milkyway or even in same dimension.

I know that brings in the Multiverse, but as it has been proven to be true, and the Ring technology is so far beyond our capabilities or even our understanding, it has to remain a possibility until it can be proven to be false.

It's just it's not only the dampening field that is awesome because somehow the Great Machine can vaporise anything at will. Doing that to the RCE lander just doomed all the people. And as the Protomolecule Miller is blind to what's happening to the people, it only proves that the Creators made the Great Machine to serve the energy needs of the protomolecule husks.

So Marco was behind the attack and the tight beam transmission ties Dobby's team to same deal. Oh Bobby, why did you had to choose wrongly? Drummer made a right choice for letting the pirate captain go, but Bobby should have not involved herself in the risky business.

The Martian Detective could not have figured all of this on his own. He seems a bit too small fish for the events that involve all of humanity. He didn't even knew that his intel on the Terraforming Tower was sh1tty at best. The Martians are like Germans. Thing has to work or they all die and therefore things cannot be left unmaintained forever and again.

Although it was strange that Bobby's airpack wasn't fully recharged. It is as if some degree of sloppiness has been introduced to the Martian system. Could it be an attempt of sabotage?

That cannot be anything that the machine produced? It has to be related to whatever started the roots. Not just because they are all green, but because they are species from same biosphere. They have to be connected somehow. The worrisome bit is the eyes. Why infect them and not other places like the mouth?

Do the distances to the other rings vary? Could the gateway to llus/New Terra just be the closest and thus the target chosen by the renegade Belters for settlement?
Maybe this planet serves as the control center and power source of the ring system. That might explain the extensive efforts to get rid of the human invaders. What self-respecting protomolecule wants monkeys randomly pushing buttons and pulling levers in its control room? :giggle:

I think they had to find something for Bobbie and Drummer to do to keep them in the series while the main action was taking place on the new planet. Maybe they'll get more screen time in later episodes or in season 5, which I understand has already been approved by Amazon.

The Martians need a new purpose. With access to more than a 1,000 new planets (if Avasarala's choke hold on the ring can ever be broken), spending decades if not centuries terraforming Mars must have lost a lot of its urgency. The only thing Mars has left going for it, as real estate agents would say, is location, location, location! The Martians have joined the Belters in preferring a nice, "normal" planet to call home.

Well, it's the wrong color to be caused by the Blue Goo. Green Gloop? :D
