This is a good explanation of Thorium reactors. I like nuclear energy as a clean energy source. Wind and solar electricity cannot be stored, which is the problem. But the consequences of nuclear accidents are so huge. These Thorium reactors have a built in safety device, so If the temperature gets too high a plug melts and the fuel drains out. It's like the dead-man's-handle on a locomotive, that stops the train if the driver passes out. They also seem to produce far fewer dangerous by-products, and they can be small and modular.

Here in the U.S. (and the balance of the world... oddly), we call that a 'meltdown.' :sneaky:

Just teasing :giggle:, I get the point of what they're doing. I haven't watched the whole video yet, so it does beg the question of 'if the fuel drains from x-y, what controls it at that point?

Interesting and at least it's an idea that is possible to get to work on today.
