D.C. Fontana, 1939-2019

Dorothy Fontana helped form Star Trek as we know it. She wrote several episodes in The Original Series and The Animated Series, as well as several TOS books. She seemed to "specialize" in Vulcans, having a large part in shaping Spock's character and back story.

She passed away at age 80.

Very sad news. I enjoyed her contributions to Star Trek very much. I also felt she should have been the one to write the scripts for the new Star Trek films. RIP.

Her contribution to the genre was significant. On top of her Star Trek episodes, she also did some Babylon 5 episodes, too. I read and enjoyed some of her Star Trek Books

Yes she wrote but she was also script supervisor for the show. She left the show at the end of season 2 and was keenly missed.
