I watched this documentary last night on the BBC iplayer.

There's plenty of clips of her speaking, and a lot about Earthsea. I always really enjoy listening to her.

I also found the sections on her early life and marriage very interesting. I knew something of her father's relationship with Ishi, but not the detail, I'd assumed that Ursula had known Ishi, but in fact he died some years before her birth.

I watched it on Thursday and thought it an excellent overview and insight into her work. She was a remarkable woman in many ways.

Naturally it was light on detail in some ways (I would have preferred deeper analysis of her more famous works) to fit it into an hour, but it was very enjoyable indeed. Good selection of talking heads, too.

Probably. I usually only catch onto things when they’ve been around a year or two.

It was first broadcast before her death I believe, so it must be at least two years old.

Edit - actually the postscript to the film was posthumous so maybe it came out just after her death.
