Hi, I'm searching for the story of a scientist who experiences himself a formula to live like 10000 years. He succeeded in but he lives so lonely because his family and friends eventually die. At the end of his time for some reason the earth became an inhabitable place so mankind has to left the planet on space ships. A girl is about to get into one of that space ships but she refuses to leave the earth, the three scientists sees her and they both stays on earth being the only habitants

There was a comic strip with that exact plot. The twist at the end is that the man and woman are named Adam and Eve.

It has been reprinted since then. I read it many years ago in Doctor Who Weekly.
