Slightly off topic, I admit, (and yet topical nonetheless). I find it quite sad that people are celebrating the first all-woman spacewalk. Why should we be celebrating something that has taken so long to happen? Although being an astronaut is not commonplace, it should be the case that an all-female spacewalk is such a common occurence that it barely raises an eyebrow anywhere in the world.

We should be contemplating our failure to end this discrimination decades ago rather than celebrating that it's taken half a century for female astronauts to finally achieve parity with their male counterparts.
