October 12th 1979 was the day when the book of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy was first published.

Everyone should wave a towel or something ;)

(Yes, I know, I'm a day late)

I, too, am somewhat of a HHGTTG snob, since I listened to the original broadcast when first aired. However, the books come second, the TV series a distant third, and the film, well... let's call it a non-starter. (OK, it had some good bits)

I’d love to read his thoughts on the whole Brexit shenanigans. He would’ve found it hilarious.

I’m with you, Stephen, the radio series is definitely the best version, although I do have a soft spot for the TV series, which introduced me to the whole thing. From there, I went on to the book then the Radio Drama. I didn't mind the movie, but it wasn’t great.
