Trying to locate a book

Looking for a book / or short story about people living in a world that have giant wasp/ bees that will attack of caught outside tree clusters
Would of read it 70s

I read a I think a short story in a collection about survivors who are forced to be babies who are raise till age two as food. Think they are on a desert world.

Didn't Hothouse by Brian Aldiss feature giant wasps preying on the undersized descendants of humans?

There are big bees/wasps in . . . (can't remember but I read it recently, hang on while I go and look). . . Queen City Jazz by Kathleen Ann Goonan. but that was published in the 90s.
