Is One Word Kill YA?

I've been given a copy of One Word Kill to review, and I wondered if anyone could confirm whether or not it's YA. I think it must be, but I'd like to be sure.

There is:

- A narrator/hero, who is 15
- His nerdy friends and girlfriend, who have an adventure and are the main supporting cast
- A 1980s setting
- Some smoking of weed
- Some not-very-graphic violence
- A handful of swear words, mainly s**t and a few f**ks.

Does that sound YA to you guys?

Sounds like YA, although his last series Book of the Ancestors centred mainly on a young girl the violence was graphic and was definitely not YA.

Thanks - I really didn't know what to expect but I enjoyed it a lot. It's not my usual sort of thing, but it was well-written and didn't get any of the things wrong that it could have done, if you see what I mean!
