Read The Murder on the Links by Agatha Christie and Anne Boleyn: Adultery, Heresy, Desire by Amy Licence.
 
Found a S.F. light: Ship's Log by Laurence P. White. Actually was pretty good. Probably had too much dialogue and not enough science -- at least for my taste (trying to think if there were any which wasn't "hand-wave-um") --- But it did think pretty deeply about communication with an alien even if language were not the problem. The second in the series Conception is also available on Kindle Unlimited and have added that seems about the same so far 16% read.
 
Are those books good? I tried the first one but got annoyed when he had stomach problems and took me away from the story
Well I've read and enjoyed the previous eleven. And the spin off about his horrible Inspector.
IMO they're good but I suppose it's down to personal preference :)
 
tried tanya huff syfy series but to morose for me. maybe try stuart mcbride lol and see if i like it
