DISCUSSION THREAD, May 2019 75-Word Writing Challenge

Oh, bugger, mine's posted. Did not end up where I thought I would, but gotta settle for something.

The hardest part about all this: waiting for the month to end before letting the cat out of the bag and unofficially deciding on votes and commenting on which were best.

It's killing me. And there is still so much of the month left to go!

Did not end up where I thought I would

When do they ever? Plan all you want, but the story just wants to do its own thing!

@Hummus .... Beatrice Beast and the Scar Crusades .... What do you get when someone starts telling of their life's adventures? A tall tale which reveals less than you might think, and more than the truth covers.

@Hugh .... Raven-Home .... What do you get when you try to explain what can't honestly be explained? An origins tale.

@Vaz .... The Gift of Man .... What do you get when a tall tale is too true in the essence if not the details? A cautionary tale.

Animals + Tall Tales + memory = my story.

This was tough. Light rain and crackling thunder, made me think of it.

Mine's in. Would have been better with a few more words (first verse lacks an entire line, and rhyme) and my word counter suggested I just might have them - but hyphenated adjectives are so difficult to be certain of…

But it falls within the guidelines.

@Starbeast .... Wamakhaskan: A Lakota Monster Legend .... What do you get when you are frozen by fear? A case of mistaken identity.

@chrispenycate .... Fox Hunt .... When Chris-p turns a tail
someone comes carrying the mail.

@jackwinabox56 .... A "Little" Adventure .... What happens when a child's imagination takes hold? A tall tale is told.

@Stable .... Panroachia .... Can a tall tale still be completely true? It can if it's about cock roaches.

@Tywin ... We All Knew They Could Play Poker .... What happens when the impossible amazingly becomes possible? They expect something more the next time.

chrispenycate: The best laid bombs of women and men aft gang kaboom.

jackwinabox56: A friend in need is a friend insect.

Ian Fortytwo: That's one small step for primates, one giant leap for primatekind.

Cheers Victoria
