As They Like It?
Uploaded post-humans may live within a computer matrix, but they’re imbued with magic. Digital, democratic magic: everyone has a bit of it.
Not that many know this… so they can, if they’re not careful, donate it to someone else. Someone like me.
Many people like me. And they Like me.
Now I’m all powerful. This has, inevitably, corrupted me.
Hence my (private) motto: The love of many is the root of all evil.

Giving Roots Of Kinship

“Elders are in all of us.” Again the gesture.

I stirred; meat surfaced, along with knowledge.

The Woman that Ate the Earth

Above the sky tree's cloud branches wink two angry stars, the hungry woman's eyes.
Earth, after rising like dough from hot oil, gods set down man on its barren clay.
Hungering, the woman ate at the clay until from her belly rose the mountains of our world, issuing waters and all game and fruit thereof, her heart beating still at their root.
Still she hungers, and one day will feast again, her heart consuming all.
