A bit late in the year but I just discovered him yesterday: Melville Davidson Post. Excellent author of mysteries.

Funnily enough, it was only this year that I first read any Kurt Vonnegut. I must have heard of him before though I can't remember.
I'll probably read the rest of his books eventually, or the main popular ones at least

Jack Womack. I read some of his Dryco novels this year as second hand US/UK hardcovers: Random Acts of Senseless Violence, Terraplane, Elvissey. (Also Heathern which I didn't like as much as the other three.)

R. C. Hutchinson, author of Testament (not sf). I'd seen his name before this year, but not investigated, so far as I remember.
