What if Nero did not commit suicide(assainated) and lived on in secrecy? This is the premise for David Barbaree's fascinating novel. There is a wide range of characters brilliantly drawn from the Year of the Four Emperor's to the twilight of Vespasian's rule. It captures the cutthroat politics of the time and he tells the story from a number of povs from lowly slaves to the highest in the Roman Empire. For those who know their history they will catch where this series is going to end up and for those who are new to this period it is a great, fun ride. Looking forward to the second book.
