It raises an interesting theme for a novel. NASA decides to let two American ISS crewmembers stay on the ISS for several months until SpaceX is finally ready with its NASA-certified Dragon. Since nobody knows exactly when that will be the ISS has a generous excess of supplies. The months turns into a year, then a year and a half, then something happens...
 
It angers me. Five billion dollars on an ugly destroyer whose guns don't work but the space program costs to much.
 
There's nothing preventing the US from renewing or extending their contract with Russia, is there?
