Just when I thought I knew most Roman Historical Fiction authors, another one comes along to surprise me. 
This time it's Albert A. Bell, who apparently wrote a series of murder mystery novels featuring Pliny the Younger as the detective.
Well, I suppose it's only a step away from the courts...
Anyway, as these books appear to have been around for some time, is anyone familiar with the series? If so, thoughts/opinions?
