The Highlands of Scotland from space

A bit of a gratuitous thread, but I simply liked this image of the Highlands of Scotland (sans islands) taken from the International Space Station - though I am surprised how difficult it is to see any sign of human activity, not least the town where I live!

Maybe the image was taken to high to see any trace of human activity. Nevertheless, this is a very beautiful one. :)

Thanks for sharing, Brian. Through the atmosphere at that height, colours seem to be less distinguishable in photos. More so at an angle. Probably not helped by brown of peaty land and the predominant reds, greys, and browns of the built environment.

A bit like with the aerial shot that did the internet rounds a few months ago, I'm naming all the mountains and locations I can recognise. And getting homesick.
