Very good, those thunderstorms put on quit a show.
It turns out lightning is more complex than first thought.
There are two types, positive and negative.
One is rare and more damaging than the other, but I can't remember which one.
Have you heard of Angels?
These are a strange effect only recently discovered on the ISS.
When filming a thunderstorm near the Earth's edge it was found that every time a bolt of lightning flashes down to the ground.
A faint ghostly bolt goes in the opposite direction, into space.
This is a faint mirror image of the ground bolt.
It's very strange and no one yet knows what causes it?

Amazing! The stormclouds lit by lightning alone, blew my mind. I am always fascinated by clouds. There is something magical, otherwordly about them, even on a normal day.

I thought they were called Sprites, although that could be something different.

Very strange effect, wonder if any one has solved it yet?
