Some YouTubers have interesting things to say about science fiction:

There is another video about proto-science fiction but I regard it as just fantasy for people that had not started science.
 
Stargate Atlantis Series Retrospective/Review


I disagree with this guy. SG-1 was not "good". I stopped watching after the first season.
Stargate Atlantis is great.

The SG-1 episode Hundred Days is the only one I have seen that is really good.

Good show, quite funny.

I remember an interview of William Gibson where he called science fiction "The Golden Ghetto". It does seem "literary people" invaded it after Star Wars for the money.

I don't know if it was available in the US while it was on the air. I never saw it until Youtube.

Aliens and 2001 certainly have to be put into any worthwhile commentary on science fiction films.



Maybe it is just me but it can get overly analytical or maybe I'm just biased. Is there any intellectual depth to Aliens or is it just Sci-fi Horror!
